Volunteers at the Sooke River Jack Brooks Hatchery play a vital role in various aspects of our operations. The level of involvement is flexible, allowing volunteers to choose tasks based on their interests and availability. Whether you prefer a hands-on role in the day-to-day activities or contributing to specific projects, your commitment helps shape the success of our conservation efforts.

  • September to November: Collecting both Chinook and Coho broodstock
  • September to December: Incubating the eggs
  • January to June: Feeding fry at the hatchery
  • Work parties throughout the year
  • General hatchery duties and maintenance as required
