Restoring Salmon in the Salish Sea

Fish for Our Future

Since 1981, Sooke River Jack Brooks Hatchery has been dedicated to enhancing salmon populations in Sooke waters and the waters of the Juan de Fuca strait. As a 100% volunteer-run salmon hatchery, each member contributes to the sustainability of Chinook and Coho salmon populations. Through the Sooke Salmon Enhancement Society, our volunteers have raised and released over 23 million salmon, reflecting our deep commitment to the natural world and the protection of these vital species. Our ongoing efforts continue to make a difference in the health of Sooke’s waters and the Salish Sea ecosystem. Join us in our mission to protect our salmon legacy and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come
